John Gerard Vigil

John "Jay" Gerard Vigil, a beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on August 11th, 2022, at the age of 69.
He was born in Santa Fe NM to parents Meliton and Yolanda Vigil. He left Santa Fe and landed in Denver where he worked hard as a land surveyor attending night school to gain the knowledge and certifications, he needed to start his own company. During that time, he met his wife Penny who he spent 38 adventurous years with raising their two successful children John and Nicole.
Jay was an entrepreneur who owned and ran Vigil Land Consultants for 25 years. He surveyed and helped develop many famous sites in Denver including Empower Field at Mile Hi, home of his beloved Denver Broncos. Jay was always smiling and telling jokes (bad ones) and having a good time. He loved art, music, dancing, history, science fiction, football and floating in the ocean in Maui. He was stoic and kind, wise and thoughtful, a storyteller and a listener.
He is survived by his wife Penny and his two children John and Nicole. His memory will live long and prosper in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
