Johnnie Gene Bonds, born on April 28, 1950 in Ransom, Kansas, passed away early morning June 26, 2020. John's family moved to Strasburg in 1953 and was his home ever since.
Graduated from Strasburg High, joined the Air Force, and married Alice Nelson of Bennett in 1968.
Two sons, Kenneth and Tommy, were born before returning to Strasburg in 1972, Kelli and Cory were later additions to the family.
Proceeded in death by parents, Mae Sorenson, Willis "Shorty" and Helen Bonds, brother Billy and Larry Bonds and sisters Margie and Ginger.
Survived by children Kenny and Jacky, Tom and Carrie, Kelli and Clay, Cory and Tina. Grandchildren Kerry Jean and Brian, Jessie and Tom, Elizabeth, Tommy and Sam, Sami, Kenny, Wesley, Liliann, Amarissa, and Giovanni. Great Grand Child Reign Marie.
The family has requested donations to the Strasburg Hometown Days Committee, the Strasburg Fire Department, or the Strasburg Historical Museum in John's name, in lieu of flowers. Services are still pending due to the pandemic and will be announced at a later date.
