Jose (Joe Jack) Vigil

March 26, 1925 — February 15, 2019

Joe (Jack) Vigil was born on March 26, 1925 in Mosquero, New Mexico. Then he moved to Denver in 1941. Our Dad joined the United States Navy in 1943, at the age of 17. In 1943 to 1944 he was assigned to the USS AULICK DD-569, as a seaman, doing general duties onboard ship. He fought for his county in World War II, and was wounded during battle. He received the Purple Heart. In 1949 he married Clorissa Valdez and they had three children, Ricky, Sandra and Brenda.

Joe is survived by Clorrisa Vigil, wife of 70 years. Children; Rick (Patsy) Vigil of Arvada, Colorado, Sandra (Danny) Rodarte of Denver, Colorado, and Brenda Vigil of Denver, Colorado. Grandchildren; Heather Vigil, Cory (Kat) Vigil, Patrick (Toni) Vigil, Stacie ( Mike) Shepard, Danielle ( Andy) Valdez, Jacqueline (Erasmo Jr.) Vasquez, Jessica ( Vince Martinez) DeLeon. Great-Grandchildren; Justin Lockwood, Jerrika Lockwood, Owen Vigil, Hailey Vigil, Chelsea Vigil, Caiylin Richards, Noah Shepard, Bella Shepard, Giovonnie Valdez, Andilynn Valdez, Adin Vasquez, Evan Vasquez, Devin Martinez, Jeremiah Martinez.

He is preceded in death by his parents Doloritas Garcia and Erminio Vigil and brothers Ezequiel (Zeke) Vigil, Ruben Vigil and Claudio (Kayo) Vigil.

Viewing will be held at Newcomer West Metro Chapel 901 S. Sheridan blvd. Lakewood, CO 80226 on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 from 5-6:30pm, with Rosary to begin at 6:30pm.

Funeral will be held at All Saints Catholic Church 2559 S Federal Blvd, Denver, CO 80219 on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 11:30am with Fort Logan to follow at 1:30pm Stage "B."
