Joseph (Jerry) Schenfeld, 91, of Aurora died Wednesday, November 1st at 10am. He was born to the late Stephen and Catherine Schenfeld in Iliff, Colorado, September 22, 1932. His early years working on farms carried into his adult life with his love of vegetable and flower gardening. Jerry joined the Air Force November 10, 1952 and was stationed in Lake Charles, Louisiana where he met and married his forever best friend Nedra Johnson. Jerry enjoyed all sports activities whether participating or as a spectator. His favorite team... The Denver Broncos. He spent many years pitching for softball teams and bowling with Nedra on various leagues. Jerry was a faithful member of Aurora Central Baptist Church for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Catherine, brothers, Adam, Mike, George and Steve, and sisters, Katherine, Helen Virginia and Cecilia.
He is survived by his wife, Nedra, two children: daughter Jeri Lynn- SIL Greg, and son Steve- DIL Alison, 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, sisters Philemina, (Min), Betty, Patricia, Sister Stephanie, Vicky and brother Donald.
He also leaves behind his loving church family, his wife's twin sister Nelda and her husband James (Mel), friends, nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the
Kidney Foundation in honor of Joseph Schenfeld.
