Joseph Francis Shirey, 88, of Littleton CO entered into eternal life on September 25, 2022.
He was born to Emma Jane and Adam Shirey on June 2, 1934, in Shenandoah, PA. Joseph shared fond memories of a happy childhood growing up with his grandparents, aunts, and uncles in Memphis, TN and then in Louisville, KY where he joined the Marine Corps Reserves.
His family moved to Detroit, MI in the early 1950's where he met the love of his life, Sylvia. Joseph and Sylvia were married on September 21, 1957.
He and Sylvia moved to the Mojave Dessert and then on to Yuma, AZ where he served a total of six years in the Marine Corps. After the Marine Corps they moved to Denver, CO where they started a family. He worked as an Advertising/Sales Executive for most of his life and was an active member of Holy Name Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. With his family, they camped and fished the beautiful Rocky Mountains for many years.
After retiring, he and his wife loved to travel and collect antiques. He also loved to play golf.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Sylvia and three children, Patricia (Bart), Susan (Paul) and Michael (Shanna). He had six grandchildren, Lisa, Anthony, Daniel (Samantha), Ashley (Andy), Samantha, and Joseph and seven great grandchildren.
