On Tuesday, September 11, 2018 Josephine C. Piper, Loving Wife and Mother of four children, passed away at age 91.
Josephine was born on October 18, 1926 in Orchard, Colorado to Sixto and Eulalia (Crespan) Miranda. She grew up in Johnstown, Colorado, with her extended family, until she left at the age of 18. After moving to Denver, Colorado, to work as a Nurses Aide at Saint Joseph's Hospital, she met and married her future husband Ray Eugene Piper. Together they had three sons, Ray, Gerald, and William, and one daughter, Alicia.
Josephine had a deep passion for the Catholic faith, family, her dogs; Peanut and Charlie, cooking, the upkeep of her home, as well as gardening. She was known for her sharp mind, welcoming smile, her kindness, and compassionate spirit.
Josephine was preceded in death by her father Sixto, her mother Eulalia, husband Ray, Sons Ray and Gerald, and sister Guadalupe Finley. She is survived by her daughter Alicia, son William, son-in-law Clinton McCree, Grandsons Anthony and Manuel, and her dog's Peanut and Charlie.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 5th, 2018 at Saint Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church on 2301 York Street, Denver, CO 80205. Burial will be at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery. Repasse will follow at Saint Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church in Brady Hall.
