Juan F. Ortiz, Sr.

Juan Francisco Ortiz, Sr., 87 passed away peacefully surrounded by his family to be with our Lord on January 13, 2022.

He was born to Carlos and Matilde Ortiz on November 8, 1934, in Juanita, Colorado. Juan graduated Valedictorian from Pagosa Springs High School in 1952. After high school, Juan joined the United States Airforce. He served from 1956-1960, as an honorably discharged veteran.

After his completing his service, he married Maria Del Carmen Argomaniz in Denver, Colorado and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in April 2021. Juan and Maria raised five children (two sets of twins).

Juan worked for the United States Postal Service, Denver Colorado for 30 years making his way through the ranks with a final position as Superintendent at USPS Annex Building, Denver, Colorado.

Juan and Maria lived in Denver, Colorado, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Littleton, Colorado.

Juan is survived by his wife Maria Del Carmen Ortiz; daughter Patricia Dingman (Michael); daughter Sandra Kiesler (Thomas); son Juan F. Ortiz, Jr. (Sadie); daughter Jennifer Mashburn (Wayne); daughter Julie Guest (Michael). Grandchildren: Jacqueline Mashburn, Kenneth Dingman, Claudia Guest, Claire Guest and Jake Mashburn.

He is preceded in death by both his parents Carlos and Matilde Ortiz and brother Carlos Ortiz.

Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado with full military honors.
Please note this will be a private burial for Juan's wife, children and grandchildren only.
