Juan Eve Williams

December 12, 1936 — May 1, 2022

Juan "Eve" Williams was 85, when she passed away late Saturday evening, April 30, 2022, after a long
battle with Alzheimer's Disease, while surrounded by family and friends. She resided at Brookshire
House in Denver, CO after contracting Covid, a UTI and pneumonia, at the same time.
Eve was born on December 23, 1936 in Archer City, Texas to Raymond Emmett and Virginia Elizabeth
Johnson. Eve was chosen as her middle name, because she was born on the Eve of Christmas Eve.
Eve was one of nine children and is survived by her older sister Lottie Ravina McCrary. They are
proceeded in death by their parents listed above, and their siblings, Rupert Emmett Johnson, Ida Mae
Smith, Orin Wayne Johnson, Julia Patricia (Patty) Cook, Buell Lehman Johnson, Kenneth Ray Johnson,
and Gerald Don Johnson.

Eve and her siblings had a very difficult life and lived in a tent with a dirt floor. They struggled for food,
and had to go to a neighbor, who would give them goats milk for the babies, but not before they drank
some too. He wanted to ensure the older kids were receiving nourishment too. They then were placed
in, and grew up in Buckner Orphanage Home, while their mother was employed as a nurse there. Eve
left Buckner at the age of 16 years old, she went on to achieve her GED as an adult, with her son, Scotty
Pace. She then received a CNA license to care for a dear friend with cancer and was on the Deans list!
Eve was a loving, caring, fun and wonderful homemaker and mother. She also taught oil painting classes
out of the home and ran a successful house cleaning business.

Eve has lived in Texas, Georgia, and Colorado, and had the most amazing accent! Everyone always
wanted to know where she was from. Eve was funny, witty, incredibly loving, had the best smile, and
was loving and kind to everyone. Eve was an avid bowler, reader, oil painter, and loved to go places and
be with her family. She did not like to sit still, even as she aged.

Eve had three marriages to Donald Gene Pace, a short stint with John Golden, which was annulled due
to abuse, and then to Hulon Joe Williams.
Eve had four children, Jimmy Dale Pace, Donald Scott Pace, Treva Eve Bolton, and Laura Deann Collier.
Eve is proceeded in death by her son, Donald Scott Pace. Eve leaves behind, to cherish her, three
children, their spouses, nine grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and a host of other family
members and friends.

The family invites all of Eve's family and friends to the memorial service which will be held at Newcomer
Funeral Home located at 190 Potomac St. in Aurora, Colorado 80011 on Saturday 5/14/2022 at 9:00am,
where refreshments will be served immediately after, at the same location. The family welcomes and
would appreciate attendees to share funny stories, antidotes, or any other stories you would like to
share, during the service. Eve wanted her funeral to be like a party, and not a somber event. We invite
people to wear brightly colored clothing, if you are comfortable, doing so.
We would appreciate donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, in lieu of flowers please.

Slow me down, Lord!
Ease the pounding of my heart by the quieting of my mind.
Steady my harried pace with a vision of the eternal reach of time.
Give me, amidst the confusions of my day, the calmness of the everlasting hills.
Break the tensions of my nerves with the soothing music of the sighing streams
That live in my memory.
Help me to know the magical restoring power of sleep.
Teach me the art of taking minute vacations of slowing down to look at a flower; to chat with an old
friend or to make a new one; to pat a stray dog; to watch a spider build a web; to smile at a child; or to
read a few lines from a good book.
Remind me each day that the race is not always to the swift; that there is more to life than increasing its
speed.
Let me look upward into the branches of the towering oak and know that it grew slowly and well.
Slow me down Lord, and inspire me to send my roots deep into the soil of life's enduring values
That I may grow toward the stars
Of my greater destiny.
