Juanita Rose Cooper, 78, of Aurora, passed away December 6, 2021.
She was born January 23, 1943 in Aledo, Illinois, the daughter of James and Maud (Hays) Chenault. She graduated from Westmer High School in Joy, Illinois.
Following her graduation from high school, Juanita enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Juanita honorably served in the Navy during Vietnam War.
Following her discharge, Juanita went to work as a Certified Nurse's Assistant. Following her marriage in 1965, she became a housewife and she raised her children, Dulcy and Clyde Jr. Once her children went to elementary school in 1977, Juanita attended Blackhawk College and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked as an LPN for several nursing homes in Illinois and the Denver Metro area until her retirement.
On December 11, 1965, she married Clyde R. Cooper.
Juanita was a member of the Lioness Club in Illinois and the American Legion Post 1992 Auxiliary in Aurora. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to play BUNCO, doing crafts, gambling and traveling. She will forever be remembered for her impact with her nursing on the patients that she cared for.
Juanita is survived by children, Dulcy Cooper-Marx and her husband Mark and Clyde Cooper, Jr. and his wife Emily Reyes-Cooper; granddaughter, Crystal Renee Trujillo; many extended family and a host of friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Clyde Ray Cooper, Sr.; father, James Elbert Chenault; mother, Maud Violet Chenault and her brother, Gary Chenault.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post 1992 Auxiliary.
