Obituary for Judy Bulkley
Judith Eleanor "Judy" Bulkley, 70, of Denver, formerly of Springfield, Massachusetts, passed away May 6, 2018.
Judy was born July 14, 1947 in Springfield, MA, the daughter of James (Stewart) and Eleanor (Young) Bulkley Neff.
She was a graduate of Miss Hall's School in Pittsfield, MA. Judy received her Bachelor's Degree in Special Education from Boston University.
Judy was instrumental in the beginning of the Visiting Nurse Association of Pioneer Valley. She was also a volunteer for Hospice of Pioneer Valley, and was especially involved with the Jewish Nursing Home in Springfield, MA. In 1989 Judy was awarded Woman of the Year for the Women's Division of the Springfield Chamber of Commerce. She later founded Extended Family Care Services in Western, MA, providing Home Health Care services for adults in need of support.
Judy loved spending time outdoors among trees, hiking and bird watching. Judy was passionate about her genealogy spending countless hours researching her family history back to the 1500's. Boston Terriers always had a special place in Judy's heart as she had 7 over her lifetime. She loved her life, her children and grandchildren, her two sisters, Martha and Debbie, her helpers as a child, Anne and Catherine and her beloved partner Karen Sliepen. Judy especially loved her faith, and was an active member of the Intercession Episcopal Church in Thornton, CO.
In March of 2015, Judy met Karen, the love of her life. They soon realized they shared a very special bond and, on June 24, 2017, Judy and Karen joined together in Holy Union. They had loved each other, the home they created, and the life they lived together.
Judy is survived by her loving partner, Karen Sliepen; daughter, Sarah (Michael) Berg; three sons, David (Marieanne) Dambrov; Richard (Jacqueline Marlette) Dambrov and Stephen Dambrov; five grandchildren, Gabriella Dambrov, Noah Marlette, Benjamin Dambrov, Kayla Berg, Raya Marlette; her sisters, Martha Hostetter and Deborah (Martin) Fairley; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, and their cherished dogs, Skippy, Maggie, Rocky and their cat, Pearl.
She is proceeded in death by Father, James Bulkley and Mother, Eleanor Bulkley Neff.
