Judith Nelms was born in Denver Colorado on April 4, 1952, and passed away on October 5th after a short battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents Joe & Marie Karpierz, and sister Sharon Lundstrom.
She is survived by her husband Harold Nelms, nephew Bryan (Meghan) Lundstrom, and niece Beth Lundstrom.
Judy graduated in 1970 from South High School in Denver. She then went on to earn her bachelor's degree in mineral land management from the University of Colorado. She relocated to Houston Texas after receiving her degree and lived there nearly forty years. She was a successful professional, starting her career at Shell Oil & Gas as a senior land analyst working for them for many years. After leaving Shell, Judy expanded and excelled in her knowledge of the industry by completing contract work for various companies like Erskine Energy, Meridian, and Manti Tarka Permian.
Judy and Harold met at church in Houston and committed to forever on April 20, 1996. They especially loved fishing together and traveling any time they could. They were married more than twenty-eight years. Judy really loved to travel, and she did just that. Her regular travel included various girls' trips with her sister Sharon and countless global destinations with Harold. She was always thinking about or planning her next trip. She and Harold recently went on an amazing trip to Canada just one month prior to her death.
After Judy and Harold retired in early 2018, they moved to Littleton Colorado where they spent the next six years enjoying the outdoors, traveling abroad, reconnecting with family and friends while enjoying their days in retirement.
