June Lockwood Saack Eakes Gerbrandt went home to be with her Lord on June 7, 2022, in Englewood,
CO, at age 77, surrounded by family and a faithful friend. She is now joyfully free of the many physical,
mental, and emotional illnesses and pain that had plagued her for most of her life.
Born on May 14, 1945, in Denver, CO, as Cynthia Russell, she was adopted as June Ellen Lockwood on
December 20, 1945, by Charles & Helen Lockwood. An adopted sister joined the family in 1948 followed
by a brother in 1950.
June was married at age 16 to Curtis Saack on March 31, 1962. Together they had a daughter in 1962, a
son in 1964, and, in 1974, they adopted another son. They were married for 31 years and moved many
times around the Denver, CO, area as well as to Bakersfield, CA, until Curt's death on October 26, 1993.
A brief marriage followed in 1995. On April 4, 2002, June married Ken Gerbrandt. Together they
enjoyed 20 adventurous years until June's death.
After receiving her GED on August 30, 1996, June put her detail-oriented skills to profitable work in two
different churches in both the Denver and Colorado Springs areas in Colorado as well as at the
Compassion International headquarters in Colorado Springs.
Undoubtably, June's most important life event was accepting Jesus as her Lord and Savior in her 20s
after reading a Gideon New Testament while hospitalized and immobilized in traction for a bad back.
She loved and faithfully served God with a strong and unwavering faith despite the many struggles and
difficulties of her life.
June is survived by her husband, Ken Gerbrandt; her siblings, Debby List and Kenneth Lockwood; her
children, Darlynn Daghlian, Bradley (Shawn) Saack, and Michael Saack; and her grandchildren Amber
Vincent, Erin Reidell, Andrew Saack, Benjamin Saack, Paul Daghlian, and Anna Saack.
A memorial to honor June's life will be held on July 9, 2022, from 3-5 P.M. at the Heather Gardens
Clubhouse in the Sanberg Auditorium, 2888 S. Heather Gardens Way, Aurora, CO.
