June Plowman Hill was born on October 1,1926 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to parents Jess and Maude Plowman (deceased). She was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma with her 2 older brothers, Howard Plowman (deceased) and Homer Plowman (deceased). June married Daniel Russell Hill (deceased) on December 31st,1948. June and Dan lived in Tulsa and Oklahoma City, O.K. for many years and made their final move to Lakewood, CO. in 1967.
In 1956 June and Dan had one beloved son, Mark Hill (Deb). June and Dan also had three cherished grandchildren, Jesse (Amy) Burne, Austin and Lilyrose Hill. She also leaves behind several loving nieces and nephews.
June spent most of her life as a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she doted on. She was always up for any family dinners, where she was always included with Deb's extended family, school functions for her grandchildren and every holiday; June never met a holiday she didn't enjoy!
In later years, June and Dan enjoyed traveling extensively all over the United State as well as England.
June was very active in her church, Phillips United Methodist Church. She had many treasured friends in her church and many dear friends where she lived at Carmel Oaks in Lakewood, where she moved after Dan's passing in 2008.
June and her close friend Shirley Lawson had a wonderful craft business for many years, making hand sewn holiday decorations, ornaments and stuffed animals. Their annual craft shows were always well attended and delighted many people through the years.
June also enjoyed playing the piano and played once a week for the residents at the Atrium in Lakewood.
We will all remember June as a sweet, gentle person who always cared for others and was devoted in her faith to God. She will be dearly missed by many people, but we celebrate her journey as a long life well lived in God's service.
