June O. Mitchell

June O. Mitchell, 94, of Denver, passed away June 3, 2010.

June was born on a homestead near Gill, Colorado in 1915. She attended school and grew up near Haxtun, Colorado. After finishing high school, she moved to Denver where she met Michael E. Mitchell, Jr. They were married in 1942 and spent their entire married lives in Denver, including 42 years at 1450 So. Vrain Way. Both Colorado natives, they were blessed to have numerous family members and friends who lived nearby.

A year after her husband passed away in 1997, June moved to Distinctive Care in Lakewood, Colorado. Her last year+ was at Mapleton Care Center, also in Lakewood. At both facilities, she was known for her caring nature and polite demeanor.

June was the wife of the late Michael E. Mitchell, Jr.; mother of Robert E. (Carol) Mitchell, Thomas E. (Joy) Mitchell and the late Michael E. (Terry) Mitchell, III; grandmother of Hayley (Kevin) Brady, Jeffrey (Kristie) Mitchell, Jay (Melissa) Mitchell, Caleb (Nancy) Mitchell and Ryan (Lisa) Mitchell; great-grandmother of Madeline Mitchell, Aaron Mitchell and Katelyn Mitchell; sister of Elsie Johnson, Darlene Johnson, the late Milton (Jeanne) Johnson, the late Lester Johnson and the late Chester Johnson; aunt of Eric Johnson (Elke), Neal Johnson, and Maura Beth Kimball (Jay); and great aunt of Kevin Johnson, Brian Johnson, Hanna Kimball and Alana Kimball. June was also survived by several cousins.

Funeral Services will be Friday, June 11, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Newcomer Funeral Home - West Metro Chapel, with viewing one hour prior to the service. Officiating, Rev. Robert Ralston. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
