June Alice Ohmert passed away June 10, 2022, at the age of 94, at The Suites Parker Skilled Nursing Facility after fighting Alzheimer's disease for more than 10 years. She was born In Amarillo, Texas on March 13, 1928, to Ralph and Elizabeth Stowell.
Her family moved to Canon City, Colorado when she was in 9th grade. June met her future husband, Bill Ohmert during high school. They were married on July 9, 1951, in Colorado Springs Colorado.
June was very active with her daughter's schools, serving in the Parent-Teacher Association and as a room mother. Bill and June bought season tickets to the Denver Broncos in 1968, and the family still attends in their honor. She decorated beautiful cakes, including wedding cakes as a hobby. She retired as a bookkeeper for a property management company.
In her retirement she enjoyed quilting, cooking Mexican food, camping, fishing for trout, and traveling to Central City, Colorado, or Las Vegas, Nevada to try her luck.
She leaves to cherish her memory: four daughters, Billie Jo Hammer (Gary) of Aurora, CO; Jill Ohmert of Aurora, CO; Jody Nordbye (Gary) of Arvada, CO; and Becky Roberts (Berman Goodnight) of Strasburg, CO. Grandchildren, Kasia, Kyle, Kara, Daniel, Heather, Reese, and Bryce. Great-grandchildren, Sydney, Elise, Madelyn, Tamaria, Chalise, Chaseon, Brantley, Beau, Remy, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Elizabeth Stowell, her husband Bill Ohmert, two sisters Dolly Whitaker, Dudy Martin and nephews David, Mark, Vernon, and Gary.
