Karen Kail Eckart, 69, of Aurora, passed away July 28, 2020.
She was born April 30, 1951 in Akron, Ohio. Karen was a graduate of Gilmary High School in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania.
On September 1, 1979, she married John Eckart.
Karen honorably served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. She also served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve Aerial Port Squadron in Colorado Springs. Her Air Force Reserve unit was deployed to serve during Operation Desert Storm. Following her retirement from the US Air Force Reserve, Karen worked as a clerk for a microbiologist at University of Colorado Anschutz Institute. She then volunteered her time at the VA which lead to a position as a telemetry clerk who would monitor the EKG output by hospital patients. After working for several years as this clerk, Karen became a Ward Clerk.
Karen loved to shop and take trips to Black Hawk. She always loved to spend time with her family and take part in any gathering that she could.
Karen is survived by her loving husband, John Eckart; sister-in-law, Julia (Craig) Campbell; nephew, Christopher (fiancee Michelle Wullenschneider) Shumake; two Nieces, Lisa (Steve) Schade and Aimee (fiance Matthew DeBoise) Cox; three great-nieces, Ayla Shumake, Adalyn Schade and Brooke Wullenschneider; two great-nephews, Rylan Schade and Jayden DeBoise and a host of friends.
