Kathe B. Pizzitola of Aurora, Colorado born on January 27, 1921 in Sekic, Yugoslavia, daughter of Friedrich and Barbara Hein. She emigrated to the United States in 1948 and resided in Durham, NC, then moved to Brooklyn, NY in 1954 where she owned a neighborhood bar. Her duties at the bar included cook, accountant, bartender, event coordinator and even the "bouncer". She moved to Colorado in 1972. She was a member of the Sons of Italy, Denver Elkettes, V.F.W. Auxilary Post 6616, Edelweiss Club, and the Colorado Folk Arts Council. In years past she was politically active in the Republican Party. She enjoyed laughing, gardening, traveling, dancing, cooking, sewing, watching sports, listening to German music and sharing past stories. Her nickname for her driving habits was "Leadfoot Katy". Her friends meant a lot to her in her life and she treasured them as family. In addition, she held great respect for military soldiers and loved men in uniform! She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who fondly called her Nana.
She is survived by daughters Gloria Bonventre (Aurora), Veronica & Arnold Klauschke (Aurora), Loretta & Paul Burek (Centennial), Barbara Furnari & Phi Pham(Aurora), Margaret & Skip Kelley (McKees Rock, PA). Grandchildren Frank Campbell, James Campbell, Joey Furnari, Nicholas Pastore, Lisa Pastore, Kristie Hilton, Carolyn Burek, Michael Burek, Michael Kelley, Jennifer Worstell and 11 Great-grandchildren. She also loved her niece Monica Ortiz and nephews Manfred Hein and Henry Ingle.
