Katherine P. Miller

January 26, 1930 — April 27, 2019

Katherine Phipps Miller passed away 4-27-2019 at Nightingale Lane, Arvada. She was born 1-26-1930 in the small town of Winnebago, MN to Lester and Dorothy Phipps. She was very active in High School, becoming a cheerleader, part of the drama club, school newsletter and class president. She was also a talented vocalist who sang for weddings, at church and at state competetions.

After high school she attended Gustavus Adolphus College, then married Raymond Miller. They had 4 beautiful children together, Julie, Jan, Jina and Jon. Her work as a microwave demonstrator took her all over the county introducing the new technology. After retirement she spent many happy hours in her garden, growing vegetables and flowers. In the wintertime, she worked on her sewing and quilts.

In 2013, Katherine moved to a memory care facility. It took a while to settle in, she then enjoyed many happy years of activities that kept her days full. Her favorite task was to gather leaves from the back garden, she thought each one was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen.

She is survived by her four children, Julie (Jim) Yamane, Jan (Matt) Alexander, and Jina (Ed) Antosz, Jon Miller. Also 5 wonderful grandsons, Jimmy (Lisa), Joe, Jeff, Daniel (Kylee) and Brandon that she was so very proud of.

Seasons will come and go, life will go on. Please think of Katherine when a leaf blows across your path and know that she is forever in our hearts.
