Kathryn M. Christensen, 73 of Arvada, Colorado passed away unexpectedly on November 27, 2008. The daughter of Katherine Kracht Butler and Morton Butler, Kathryn was born a blond haired, blue-eyed beauty in Meeker, Colorado in 1935. After graduating from Meeker High School in 1953, she resided primarily in the Denver metropolitan area and lived in Arvada for the past 25 years.
Known for her adventuresome spirit, she was endlessly open to new experiences and loved to travel the world. Her "joie de vive" was steeped with gentle kindness and limitless affection - none more apparent than to her husband, children and grandchildren.
Kathryn was keenly interested in others, striking up conversations just about anywhere, about anything and always taking away something positive from each and every interaction. No one was a stranger to her.
She is survived and will be missed dearly by her husband John Christensen, her children Dr. Lisa Sullivan (Bob Sandoval), Dr. Steven Sullivan (Veronica), Mary Sullivan (Jeffrey Graham), Sherrie Christensen (Steve Allison), Deborah Sisk (Gene) and her grandchildren, Brooks Reale, Bailey Reale, Taylor Graham, Katherine Sullivan, Victoria Sullivan, Elizabeth Sullivan and by her sister Jewel Bewly.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 20th at The Church of Christ the King, 6490 Carr Street in Arvada. Those attending are encouraged to wear red, as that was Kathryn's favorite color. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.NewcomerDenver.com.
As a cancer survivor, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society to honor Kathryn's memory.
