Kathy Ellen Russell

Kathy Ellen (Bortz) Russell, 67, of Aurora, Colorado passed away on March 18, 2022 following a brief illness.

She was born in New Kensington, Pennsylvania on September 6, 1954.

Mrs. Russell graduated with honors from Kiski Area High School, Vandergrift, Pennsylvania in 1972 and was of the Lutheran faith.

Kathy spent most of her life proudly employed by the United States Navy and recently retired from the United States Immigrant and Customs Enforcement.

She enjoyed playing bass guitar and loved music.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father Guy Aloyisius Bortz and mother Laura May (Rupert) Bortz of Kingsport, Tennessee.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband John Russell of Aurora, Colorado; sons Jesse Petty and wife Kedra of Aurora, Colorado, Nicholas Russell and fiancé Leeshan of Eagle Point, Oregon, Sean Russell and wife Vanessa of Eagle Point, Oregon; brothers Robert Bortz and wife Josie of Kingsport, Tennessee, Guy Bortz and significant other Gerri of Whitesburg, Tennessee, Glenn Bortz and wife Robin of Blountville, Tennessee, and Gary Bortz and wife Melissa of Kingsport, Tennessee; grandchildren Noah Petty, Nathaniel Petty, Evelyn Petty, Payton Russell, Colton Russell, Breanna Russell, Logan Russell, and Jaxson Russell as well as several nieces and nephews.
