Keeley Maria Cook (Root) passed away peacefully at the age of 40 on 1 March 2024.
She was born to Ralph and Linda Root on 1 April 1983 in Montrose, CO. Keeley graduated from Cherry Creek High School in 2001 and attended Colorado Mountain College receiving an Associate's degree and moving into the Veterinary Technician field. She married her high school sweetheart Jeff on 17 December 2005 and continued to live in Aurora, CO.
Keeley was a Veterinary Technician where she was passionate in treating and caring for animals of all sizes. She spent time in all the veterinary specialties; internal medicine, emergency and critical care, and ultimately found her calling to work in the oncology specialty with her best friend Casey. Keeley worked in multiple veterinary practices along the Front Range, from Boulder to Windsor, and Castle Rock to Parker. Keeley was known throughout the Veterinary community and was always talked about in the highest regards.
Keeley also had a passion for bowling. She and her husband found the tight-knit Denver bowling community in 2008, and soon found the community to be more like a family. With leagues and tournaments, Keeley was always the light in the room making sure to meet, greet, and give hugs to everyone in the alley when she showed up. She adored the friendships she made in the community and always looked forward to seeing those friends at the next league night or tournament.
Keeley is survived by her husband Jeff and her dogs Gertrude and Lego; her parents Ralph and Linda Root; her siblings Robert and Darby (Gallardo) and their families; her mother-in-law Sandi Cook and Jeff's siblings Cynthia (Sollars), Heather (Tanner), Monica (Gillespie), Alan, Scott, Brian and their families.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to MaxFund Animal Adoption Center (maxfund.org).
Service will be held at 950 Laredo St., Aurora, CO 80011 on 9 March 2024 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and will be live streamed.
