Brian Keith Olsen, 68, of Lakewood Colorado, passed away on June 5, 2021.
Keith was born August 8, 1952, to the late Marvin Olsen and Francis Winona Olsen, in Denver CO. Keith graduated high school in 1970 and continued onto college to get a Bachelor degree in Arts in 1975. He was married to Janet Struthers Olsen from 1972 to 2000 and during their marriage they were blessed with their only child Whitney.
Keith was a man of many talents one of his first jobs was at the Denver rubber company. He worked for the Rocky Mountain News for many years 'til they closed it down. He was a realtor for most of his working career. Keith's passion in life was being an author and he had multiple books published over the years.
Keith was a man of many hobbies. He was an avid musician and played the trumpet, guitar, ukulele, piano, and even the didgeridoo. Keith was an amazing singer and loved to sing duets with his child, Whitney. Keith was very athletic and starting from a young age played football and in high school he was on the track team as a long distance runner. He also enjoyed fencing and loved to play tennis and golf.
He was always a very generous person who was willing to help anyone at the drop of a hat. Keith was one of a kind and was always one to make a crowd of people laugh.
In 2017 Keith was diagnosed with stage 3 Colon Cancer that had spread to his stomach and liver and was given 5 months to live. He fought hard but finally succumbed to the illness almost 5 years later.
Keith is survived by his child Whitney (Janine), Hank the dog, his brothers Kent (Shauna), Eric (Suzann), and a girlfriend of many years Paula. He is also survived by a large extended family.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to Angel Flight West or the Colorectal Cancer Alliance.
