Kenneth Leland Gerbrandt

September 16, 1931 — November 14, 2023

Kenneth Leland Gerbrandt was born in San Jose, California on September 16, 1931 to Abe and Anna Gerbrandt. He went home to glory on November 14, 2023 at the age of 92.

Our dear father, Ken Gerbrandt, went home to be with his Lord on November 14, at the ripe old age of 92. Dad outlived his oldest son and two wives and was faithfully and loyally married for a total of 70 years. Up until almost the end, he was a people-person who loved to tease and kid with others making him well liked by everyone he met. He would strike up a conversation with any stranger. He loved his family deeply and especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren; he loved babies in a special way. He was strong and hardworking, but it always amazed us

what intricate work he could do with his huge, calloused hands. He loved to invent, problem-solve, and create. His curiosity could get him into trouble but that never stopped him. He loved to be spontaneous and was known to show up at the door of family or friend very unexpectedly. Car racing was always a special interest of his; We grew up knowing more about NASCAR than any other sport.

But the most important thing you need to know about our dad is that he loved and served his Lord with all his heart, mind, and strength. He lived what he believed. He and our mother, Carol spent their early years as missionaries in Brazil running an orphanage with its self-sustaining farm and loving well the children God placed there. He retired from Ridge Erection at the age of 65.

Until his retirement years, dad always served the church in some capacity either as an elder, a weekly home Bible study leader, or a mentor to the young men God brought across his path. I'm certain he was welcomed into heaven with a "Well done, good and faithful servant." We grieve his loss but rejoice with him in his gain. To be home with the Lord is better by far! His legacy of faith and love lives on in the generations he leaves behind. His family and friends will deeply miss him.
