Kenneth "Kenny" Prather, 78, of Denver, died Sunday, February 20, 2022.
Kenny was born in Yuma County, Colorado to Harry and Hila Prather on September 7, 1943. In 1961 he joined the US Air Force as an aircraft mechanic and served for 20 years. He married Donna Hudgins in Amarillo, Texas in 1964; they had 2 children. He retired from the Air Force in 1981 and was a construction plumber for 27 years.
He had a deep love of family, horses, fishing, camping and get-togethers- especial the ones that involved chicken and bacon. When he struggled with a name, he often used "Buck" and when he greeted his wife of 58 years, he would say "Hola Guapa" (hello beautiful)- something he pick up while stationed in Spain. Whether showing his kids how to tell a joke and take a joke or teaching his grand kids to play poker, he always had something to offer, be it a life lesson or simply how to have fun. Kenny's love of family and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.
Kenny is survived by his loving wife, Donna; children, Dean and Rhonda; grandchildren, Michael, McKenna, Ryan, Kelley and great-grandson, Jaxon. Sisters: Cody, Dixie (Larry), Marva, Lavonna; brother, Larry (Debbie); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
