Keran Decker Pattengill

KERAN DECKER PATTENGILL It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Keran Lucille Decker Pattengill, 80, in hospice, in Golden, Colorado on November 8, 2023.

Keran was born and raised in McPherson and also lived in Topeka prior to relocating to Golden with her young family in 1967.

She is pre-deceased by her beloved husband Maurice Pattengill (February 2018). Keran leaves a daughter, Rhonda Miller, and son in law, Scott Miller, both of Boulder, Colorado; sister Eleanor Esau, niece Christina Whitmer, and great nieces, Jordan and Logan Whitmer, all of McPherson. She also leaves relatives in Manhattan, Kansas, Lexington, Kentucky, and Waco, Texas.

Keran was well-loved in her community and was known for her gracious, generous and joyful spirit, love of family and friends, and love of cooking and entertaining in her home. She was a determined businesswoman, ending her successful financial career as Assistant Director of the Colorado School of Mines Credit Union upon her retirement. She and her husband Maurice spent many enjoyable years in retirement together, spending winters in New Mexico, where they were able to pursue their creative love of art and music, surrounded by the love of many dear friends. Their volunteer music ministry touched many lives, both in Colorado and New Mexico. Keran will be loved forever, and held in fond memory, by family and friends, and missed dearly. We hold her in our hearts with love until we meet again in The Kingdom.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held in December.
