On January 31, 2021, Kimberly Kay White, loving mom and devoted Mema, passed away at the age of 60.
Kim was born on October 25, 1960 in Torrance, CA. The youngest child in her family, of Edith and Walter white. Her sisters were more like aunts and her cousins were more like siblings. Her deep love and loyalty to family lead her to leaving school early to care for her aging veteran father. She welcomed her first and only daughter in 1986. Following the passing of her daughter's father in 1990 she moved to Colorado to build a new life. In 2005, with her daughter grown and her first grandchild on the way, she went back to school and got her GED.
Kim had the best sense of humor and knew how to make a whole room smile. If you said "Hi!" she'd meet you with "No, but that's a nice thought!" She loved murder mysteries both on TV and in books. She loved music, and any time she was busy she was usually bopping along to some classic rock. She had an effortless green thumb, and loved being outdoors. Halloween time brought out her creativity, she dabbled in special effects makeup, her best looked like a pencil stuck in her face. Inspired by a story from her childhood. Her favorite place of all though was always the beach, with a car ride and good tunes to get there.
Kim lived with her daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren, prior to moving into a skilled nursing facility following a life changing stroke. She adored her five grandchildren, and loved being part of their lives not just during special occasions but through everyday life.
Kim was preceded in death by her mother, father, her grandson; Bram, and her siblings; Susie and Betty. She is survived by her daughter, Samantha; son-in-law, TJ; grandchildren, Tatum, Kaleb, Alden, and Rosalie.
No services will be held at this time, private ceremony will take place in the coming months. The joy and humor she infused into the lives around her will be sorely missed.
