Kraig Stephen Stovall, 69, was born June 8, 1954 in Glendale, California. He passed away on July 19, 2023, in Denver, Colorado.
Kraig is survived by his loving wife, Jan Montgomery Stovall, and their children: Rachel, Jacob, James, and Samuel. He is also survived by his daughters-in-law, Chantel and Karissa, as well as his grandchildren, Alyssa, Landon, and Karson.
Kraig was preceded in death by his father, John E. Stovall, his mother, Shirley Peterson Stovall, and his sister, Kimberly Stovall Vernon.
Kraig grew up in California. This is also where he met and married his wife, Jan. He attended Azusa Pacific University where he played college football and received a Bachelor of Arts degree. Shortly after graduating from college, Kraig and Jan moved to Colorado where Kraig attended Denver Seminary for a short time before switching to a career as a firefighter.
Kraig was a dedicated firefighter for the City of Englewood for 36 years, earning the title of Executive Fire Officer awarded by the United States Fire Administration through the National Fire Academy. He also held a Master of Science Degree in Executive Fire Service Leadership from Grand Canyon University. He had great passion for fire service leadership and loved training firefighters. He always strove to act with integrity and excellence as a firefighter.
Kraig loved spending time with his children and was very proud of their accomplishments. He was an avid cyclist and rode Ride the Rockies numerous times with his three boys. He loved woodworking and made beautiful, cherished heirlooms for his wife and daughter. He became an intense and loyal Broncos fan, and his friends and family have many fun memories of time spent with him at or watching games.
Kraig was especially passionate about his love for his Lord and Savior. He studied God's Word and delighted in sharing what he learned with others. He faithfully supported many missionaries and was passionate about spreading the good news of salvation through Jesus's gift of eternal life.

Kraig will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His dedication to his career and his family along with his love of his Savior leave behind a lasting legacy.
