Lance DeChaun Franklin, 52, from Denver, Colorado passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2019.
He was born to Martha Franklin on May 10, 1967 in Kansas City, Missouri. He lived in Germany until he was six months old then settled in Colorado. He attended Aurora Central High School.
He moved to Las Vegas in June 1995 with Lynn Kier Franklin. They lived there for 6 years. They were married in 1998 and had their first son, Trent, while living there. They moved back to Colorado January 2001.
Lance worked different jobs over the years from collections to warehouse.
He was passionate about coaching his kids in sports. He coached baseball and basketball. He never coached football because he said that was his time to just sit back and enjoy watching his boys play.
Lance was always willing to help out his friends and neighbors with whatever they needed. He knew everyone in the neighborhood and was always outside with a wave and a smile when they passed by.
His favorite holiday was Thanksgiving. It had his four favorite things: Family, friends, food and the Dallas Cowboys on TV.
He is survived by his wife; Lynn Franklin, Two sons; Trent and Aaron Franklin, Mother; Martha Franklin, Uncle; Tommy Franklin, His in-laws; Don and Patti Kier, two sister-in-laws; December Lucero and Sabina Kier, two brother-in-laws; Scott Kier and Ed Lucero, two nephews; Cooper and Bode Kier, as well as cousins; Keenan Franklin, Gina Montesanti and Tony Montesanti.
He is proceeded in death by his Grandmother; Effie Vann, Grandfather; Charlie Vann, and Aunt; Linda Franklin.
A memorial service will be held Saturday 11/16/2019 at 11:00am at Newcomer Funeral Home, 190 Potomac St., Aurora, CO 80011. There will be a reception held at the Knights of Columbus hall down the street 13645 E Bayaud Ave, Aurora CO 80011 from 1:30-4:30.
