Lawrence E. Vashon

Lawrence E. Vashon, 84 of Aurora, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2020.
He was born to the late Alta and Alfred Vashon, May 26, 1935 in Onaway, Michigan. Lawrence graduated from Mattawan High School in 1953. He married the late Helga Drumm in 1957. They lived in many places as he was in the Air Force and settled in Aurora, Colorado in 1974 after retiring from the Air Force.

Lawrence was in the Air force for 20 years and after retiring, he worked at Coors, The Denver Mint and the US Post Office for a short while before working in civil service at Lowry Air Force base and retiring from civil service after 20 years in 1996.

Lawrence loved to travel, camp and coach little league. He loved his dogs and the Air Force. He also was an avid Colorado professional sports fan.

Lawrence is survived by three children: Steven Vashon, of Box Elder, South Dakota, James Vashon and Tamara McNiell of Aurora, Colorado. He is also survived by his sister Nina Dugger from Mitchell, Nebraska and four grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Alta and Alfred Vashon, his brothers Arthur, Jim and Earl Vashon; and sisters Dorothy Ormsby and Hatti Jones.
