Leland Mathias Pinger,83, of Littleton, Colorado, passed away on September 13, 2019, surrounded by family.
He was born February 24, 1936, in Lindsay, Nebraska to Edward and Clara Pinger. He was the seventh of ten children. He married Sandra Dillard on July 2, 1960, who survives.
For most of his life, Lee was employed in the telecommunications industry, including Western Electric, Mountain Bell, US West and Rockwell International. Early in his career, he worked for Martin Marietta on the Titan missiles.
Lee was a veteran of the Korean conflict, and a lifetime member of the VFW. He served as the Commander of VFW Post 2461. He was also a member of the American Legion
Lee and Sandra were active parishioners at the Light of the World Roman Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra, son and grandson Ed and Jackson of Twin Falls ID; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry Layton and Thomas Foltz of Aurora, Co; daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter Nickole, Derrick, and Kenzie Campbell of Aurora Co; Granddaughter Jessica Maness and great grandsons Ethan and Tyson Maness of Aurora, Co.
Services will be held on September 24th at the Light of the World Roman Catholic Church. Services will begin with a rosary at 10:00 and a funeral mass at 10:30. A luncheon will be served after the mass, followed by a burial service at Ft. Logan at 1:30.
