Leonard Thomas Greene 'Tom', a resident of Commerce Twp., MI died at home, in the late hours of Thursday, July 01, 2021. He was 90 years old.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Donna (d. 2013). Tom and Donna met in 1955, at the USO Club in Duluth, Mn, and married shortly thereafter. They were married for 58 years. Tom was also preceded in death by all of his 11 siblings.
Tom is survived by his daughters, Sandra (Thomas) Philliben, Tracy Isabell and his son, David (Jennifer) Greene; grandchildren, Michael (Andrea) Isabell, Jesse Isabell, Matthew (Stephanie) Isabell, Erin (Ben) Fisk, Kelli (Ryan) O'Dea and Sean Philliben; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Blake, Sierra and Liam as well as many nieces, nephews, close friends and extended family members.
Tom retired the first time after serving his country for 20+ years in the Air Force. Landing in Aurora, Colorado where he was a resident for 47 years, he started his second career at Mountain Bell, the "Telephone Company" for 20+ years until his second retirement 1994. Tom never retired from serving his family. He spent the majority of his 90 years working, supporting, mentoring, leading, caring, and loving his family.
Everyone that met Tom (even if it was only once) were touched in a positive way. He always had a smile and a "Hi Folks" for a stranger that passed his way. If you were lucky enough to have a conversation, then you would hear a good story, a funny joke or a quick witted saying or expression. Tom constantly lifted the spirits of those around him.
Tom was a kind, gentle, generous, and loving person that will be missed by all that had the opportunity to know him. We all should strive to be like Tom, so we can make this world a better place!
