It is with deep sadness and much love that we announce the peaceful passing of Leonard Dean Kile of Longmont, CO. He passed away on November 28, 2022, at the age of 84.
He was a loving son and brother. He is survived by his brothers Roy and Darrell Kile, sister Sharon Kile Petty, and the following nephews and nieces. Tom Kile; Cheryl Lowe; Debbie Wilson; Mike Kile; Steve Kile; Jenny Kile; Chris Kile and Susan Kile.
Leonard was born in Yuma, Colorado on March 1, 1938. He was preceded in death by his parents Russell and Gladys Kile; brothers Charley; Lyle; Melvin; Donnie and Douglas. He was the fourth born of nine siblings.
Leonard proudly served in the US Army during the Cold War, from 1961 to 1963 in Berlin, Germany.
Leonard was known for his kindness, giving and humor. He loved to tease. He enjoyed western movies, bowling, traveling, Sudoku, and new restaurants around town. He was a huge fan of Elvis and Dolly Parton.
He had many lifelong friends Terry Hunt of Sunny Valley, NV. (70 years); Jerry Jayne of Wheatland, WY (50 years); Maxine Bodine of Longmont, CO (22 years); Leota Hiclscher; Mary Rose; Kenny Comer; Eva Iten; Bob Ribble; Roger Lee and Tom Stewart all of Longmont, Colorado. He will dearly be missed by his friends.
Services will be held on December 21, 2022, 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints at 6465 W. Jewell Ave, Lakewood, CO. following interment at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
