LeRoy Henry Petrie

LeRoy Henry Petrie, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, was born on March 31, 1935, in Greeley, Colorado. He spent his days on this earth vibrant and full of life, until he peacefully departed on February 25, 2025, in Denver, Colorado, leaving behind a legacy woven with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

A devoted husband to his beloved wife Irene, LeRoy exemplified the true meaning of partnership, standing by her side through every season of life. Together, they cultivated a home filled with warmth and affection, a safe haven where their family flourished. His remarkable bond with his daughter Kathy was a source of pride and joy. Her spirit mirrored his, reflecting his kindness and compassion, and their connection was an unwavering light in each other’s lives.

LeRoy delighted in the company of his granddaughters: Celina, Alexis, and Carmen. With each of them, he shared unique adventures and warm stories, imparting wisdom and nurturing their dreams. He took immense joy in being a grandfather, dedicating himself to providing guidance and support, and cheering them on as they ventured through life's milestones. The arrival of his three great-grandsons, Averi, Henri, and Luca, only deepened his happiness, as he embraced each moment spent together, celebrating their every achievement with pride.

LeRoy never knew a stranger; he made it a point to learn how to say hello in as many languages as he could, ensuring that no matter where you were from, you felt at home in his presence. But to our family, and to so many others, he was home. He was our greatest source of strength, comfort, support, and wisdom. Our biggest fan. He loved fiercely and unconditionally. His absence leaves a void that can never be filled, and the world will never shine as brightly without him. 

As he transitioned peacefully into the arms of his Creator, LeRoy left behind countless memories to be treasured by those he loved. Friends and family alike will carry his spirit with them, forever inspired by his unwavering love and kindness.

In these moments of farewell, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life partnered with love, celebrated by family, and enriched by friendships. LeRoy Henry Petrie will remain forever in our hearts, guiding us with the lessons and love he imparted, his memory living on through each story shared and every smile evoked.
