Lillian Lorraine Bellaire

Lillian Lorraine (Farrow) Bellaire was born on June 13th, 1935 at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, LA.

One of 12 children, Lillian, to her family and close friends was called 'Lolly'. She graduated from L.B. Landry High School in 1953, where she was Valedictorian of her graduating class & also played the French horn. She then attended Xavier University in New Orleans, LA, for the next 2 years.

Lolly married on November 19, 1955, to Raymond J. Bellaire Sr., also from New Orleans, LA, in All Saints Catholic Church.

She grew up in the Catholic church, and always gave faithfully of her time, labor and money.

She had 4 children- (late) Cheryl A. Jefferson, Ava J. Bellaire, Raymond J. Bellaire Jr. and Donna L. Carter. The family moved to Denver, Colorado, in 1965. Fitzsimons Army Medical Center, Lowry AFB and the VA Hospital were some of the first things that guided them there. Raymond was shot in the Korean war and spent many months in the hospital at Fitzsimons Medical Center.

When in Denver, Lolly and Raymond resided in the Park Hill community, where the family joined Cure d'Ars Catholic Church. She would wash and iron the Sunday linen for church among other duties she would perform. One of the things she did start doing for the church/school that she really enjoyed was Bingo. She worked the bingo floor selling 'special' bingo cards, and played at numerous Catholic schools. Then both Lolly and Raymond started working bingo for the Retired Enlisted Association, which they were members of, and it became a twice a week family affair. Gambling became one of their joys, so they made numerous yearly trips to Las Vegas, NV, along with their good friends.

Lillian worked in the Denver Public School District as a Teacher's Aid and retired with the district after 30 years of loyal service. She never learned how to drive and never drove a car a day in her life, but got around just fine.

Lolly passed away a day before her husbands birthday. We'd like to think daddy said he wanted her home with him this birthday.

She leaves to mourn her death: her surviving children Ava, Raymond & Donna, her sisters Rosemary Smith (Joseph), Betty Rose (late Thomas), Marilyn Hinton (Bruce), Katherine Steib, and Diane Jackson (Carl), brother Daniel E. Farrow Jr. (Deborah), son-in-law Ronald D. Carter, daughter-in-law Marjorie Bellaire & brother-in-law Lloyd Bellaire (Ann)-her 9 grandchildren: Qu'nell L. Jefferson, Christine M. Jefferson, Marcella L. Currin, Toi M. Smith, Tyrone J. Smith, Ronald D.W. Carter Jr., Marques J. Bellaire, Monica Y. Bellaire, Jalen R. Bellaire and 11 beloved great grandchildren.

She, along with Raymond, loved to care for all their grandchildren & greats, for it seemed to keep them young and on their toes at all times. Lolly will be sorely missed.

She is preceded in death by: her husband Raymond J. Bellaire Sr., father Daniel E. Farrow Sr., mother Lillian Rome Farrow, daughter Cheryl A. Jefferson, brothers Kenneth Farrow, Ronald Farrow, Morris Farrow, Rudolph Farrow & sister Carmen Johnson.
