Linda (Calerich) Herzog, 76 of Denver, passed away November 30, 2022.
She was born August 30, 1946, the daughter of John and Lena (Silvetti) Calerich. She grew up in Denver, CO and graduated from North Denver High School. On September 4, 1965, she married William "Bill" Herzog, they were married for 50 years.
Linda retired in 2009 from working as a Supervisor at the City and County of Denver, Treasury Division for 21 years where she received many awards and commendations. She worked as an Office Clerk at Montbello High School for three years while her children attended school there. She was an active partner with her parents in J&L Liquors for several years in the 1980's.
Linda was very active as a leader in Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts when her children were growing up.
She enjoyed many camping and fishing outings, even braving sub-zero temperatures ice fishing with Bill and their friends. Gambling was one of her "hobbies". She enjoyed numerous trips to Las Vegas, junkets to Elko, NV, and VIP stays at the Ameristar in Black Hawk, CO.
She was an avid fan of Elvis Presley, the Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies. In 1977, Linda and Bill took a road trip with some friends from scouting to attend Super Bowl 12, They stopped to see Elvis' Graceland on the way.
Linda adored her grandchildren and attended many of their school and scouting events. She made friends easily and kept them close for life. She was admired for her generosity and caring ways. She often put the care and well-being of others ahead of her own.
Linda is survived by son, Jeffery (Sue) Herzog; daughter Lisa (Skip) Durbin; three grandchildren, Tyler (Lindsey) Herzog, Tanner (Ashley) Herzog and Tiana Hatten; three great grandchildren, Walker Herzog, Nash Herzog and Makhi Davis. She is preceded in death by her husband Bill; parents, John and Lena; and brothers Phillip and Richard.
