Linda E. Ortega
Born November 30th 1949 to Eleanor Mary Domiques and John Joseph Espinosa.
What started as humble beginnings, in an area not so affectionately called ‘The
Projects’, flourished into a life rich in every way possible.
A product of the Catholic School system, Linda attended St. Elizabeth Grade School
and St. Joseph High School, graduating from St.Joseph’s in 1968.
Linda reluctantly married Victor, (Vic), Ortega soon after graduation, (because he
promised to take her to Hawaii, which he did twice). Linda and Vic were married for 55
years. Linda conceived 4 children for Vic, (Victor John, Linda, Allen, and Timothy).
Linda and Vic are proud of their children’s accomplishments so far in there lives.
Linda’s most cherished accomplishment was being able to drive a school bus for the
handicapped students of Adam’s County School District 12. She loved her students
and was deeply saddened when she was forced to retire after injuring herself while
preventing a student from tipping his wheelchair in the snow.
Linda had a passion for quilting and sewing and was an extremely gifted photographer.
She began photography after retirement and was gifted in finding the hidden pictures
in nature.
Linda and Vic celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary ’On The White Sandy
Beaches of Hawaii’, where they reaffirmed their wedding vows: “In good times and
bad, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, till death do us part”.
She is missed.
