Lois was born into the family of Luther and Minnie Downing on March 21, 1928 in Bird City, Kansas. Her younger years were spent in Western Kansas, where she met Kenneth Nothdurft and was married in 1947. They had a daughter Judith several years later. Lois and Kenny purchased a farm in Anton, Colorado and then son Larry was born. They bought a home in Denver and commuted from Anton to Denver for many years while farming. Later they purchased a home in Lakewood, Colorado. The farm was sold in the mid seventies at which time they bought a home and moved to the Chatfield Reservoir area.
Lois and Kenny enjoyed many years of travel in their RV's where they spent the winters in Arizona having lots of fun and meeting many nice people in the RV Resorts. Kenny passed in 1993 and Lois moved to Denver and spent a lot of time with her Mother in Loveland, CO, who passed in 1996.
Lois was a fantastic cook and enjoyed baking. (she made the best cookies and pies). When she was not in the kitchen she was busy doing crafts (knitting, crocheting, etc.), sewing, playing cards, and she loved to watch soap operas.
Lois was very fashionable; she had her hair and nails done weekly. She dressed with style and class, a very beautiful lady with a heart of gold.
Every Sunday Lois attended church. She enjoyed Sunday school and going to lunch with her friends from church.
Lois spent the last 2 years at Meridian Health Care Center in Lakewood, Colorado where she passed on December 29, 2009.
We will all miss you dearly. We love you from the bottom of our hearts.
Lois was survived by daughter Judith Kleitsch, son-in-law Kenneth Kleitsch, son Larry, and daughter in law Sharon, Sister Doris Chenoweth and many nieces, and nephews.
