Lonnie Rena Drobnick

August 30, 1947 — February 22, 2022

We regretfully announce the passing of Lonnie Rena Drobnick (74) of Golden, Colorado on February 22, 2022. Lonnie was surrounded by her family and passed away peacefully.

Lonnie, was one of the strongest, most courageous women to ever walk this earth and our family was blessed to have her as our mother. Lonnie graduated from Salida High School in 1966. After graduating, she moved to Leadville and then to Golden in 1970. She went to work at Coors Ceramics/Coors Tek and was a forklift operator, production worker and press operator for 28 years. Other notables- 6 years as a Lunch Lady for JeffCo Public Schools and 12 years at Walmart in the Garden Center/Greeter. She loved to garden, cook, camp and fish, many crafts including: crotchet, photography, movies. She loved to create beautiful things and memories and was always giving to others.

In 1965, she met Jim and married on December 17, 1966 in Salida, CO. Together they went on to have 3 children; Shawna, Chris and Jason. Lonnie's greatest contribution and legacy is her unwavering love, caring compassion, loyalty, and generosity to her family, friends and all others she met.

Lonnie was predeceased by James 'Jim ' (husband) in 1985, Kenneth & DeAun Winfield (parents), Becky Flores (sister), Anthony Gitto (brother-in-law), Duran (great nephew).

She is survived by her daughter Shawna Weir (Conifer, CO), sons Christopher Drobnick (Bellevue, CO) and Jason Drobnick (Golden, CO), twin sister Bonnie Gitto (NC), sister Patsy McDowell (Mesa, AZ), brother David Winfield (Salida, CO), Son-in-Law John Weir, Daughter-in-Law Carrie Drobnick, Grandchildren: Taylor Drobnick, John 'JJ' Weir, Tenzen Drobnick, Talon Drobnick, Tesla Drobnick, Grand pup Zula. As well as extended family members Paul McDowell, Lupe Flores, Christie Lionelle, James Lionelle, Gina Gitto, Kenny Paul Flores, Ben Manzanares, Bobby Manzanares, Caitlin McDowell, Asha Noel, Jada Stevens, Hannah Barron-Manzanares, Kaleb Barron-Manzanares, Cheyenne Fukuhara Whitfield, Cricket (Abby) Manzanares, Korah Manzanares, Dillon Manzanares.

Viewing will be held Friday, March 18th, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. and Services at 11:00 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home 901 S Sheridan Blvd. Lakewood, CO. She will be laid to rest along with our father's ashes on Monday, March 21, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Fairview Cemetery, Salida, CO.
