Remembering Loretta Faye Reed
On September 29, 1946, Queen Loretta Faye Wise "LA" was born to her parents Osborn Wise and Hattie Mae Slade-Wise in St. Louis Missouri. Loretta was the fourth child of five girls born to this union.
Loretta was one of the most caring, fun, kind, crazy, full of life, resilient, beautiful, centered, and the coolest Wiccan White Witch you could ever meet! She most definitely had extensive powers and was very magical, possibly even mutant! Loretta was superhuman and had mind power over a lot of things in her life. Her Paganism led her to visualize things that most people wouldn't believe. Most would compare Wiccan to evil, but she was far from that! Loretta just had a different belief so trust that she is in a GREAT place flying free from all suffering.
Loretta married Ernest Eugene Reed III in 1967; later in her journey two children were born to this union Brigette Lashawn and Ernest Eugene IV.
Loretta has four grandchildren: Lexus, Jadah, Desiree'A, Desreon and one great-granddaughter Mizani. They lovingly called her "Nana" however "Mamoo" was her first named by her First Granddaughter Lexus, Loretta was a dedicated Mother and Grandmother; she gave all she had to all of them, No matter what it was. She was there! Loretta was raised in Denver, Colorado and she graduated from Manual High School in 1966. She retired from Wheatridge Regional Center after 30+ years of service. Loretta, along with her sister Annie also established "Brewer Home Care" in 2001 and she supported this effort until 2017. From a young age Loretta's favorite sport was softball. She played fastpitch softball and was known as the "Baddest Catcher" EVER #16 in the league. She played for: University Medical Center, Jets, Mr. "A's", Bandits and the "Horizon". She also coached her daughter's softball team that lead her to also be the baddest catcher/short stop and lead an undefeated team for 7 years straight!
Loretta loved being around her family for the holidays, and she enjoyed decorating her entire house inside and out for every occasion. You could always find her smiling, dancing, laughing, shopping, and painting anything; shoe boxes, walls, floors, doors, she would paint your car if you let her, anything you needed painted she would paint it, she also enjoyed glue guns, she glue guned pictures on the walls she could glue gun your door to your house, car, anything the glue could hold she would be happy to glue it! Loretta was always on the go Walmart, and Goodwill were her favorites. She loved watching Perry mason and mission impossible over and over, "My mission if you choose to except"! ( LOL) She absolutely loved going I70 West to the casinos not to gamble but to listen to the machines and see the lights with her best road dogs the twins Essie and Norris and they painted and glued anything with her as well!
Loretta departed this life and transitioned into the universe on her broom on March 14, 2024 surrounded by her family.
During her illness (COPD) her daughter Brigette, Granddaughter Jadah, and her caretakers Griselda and Kelley devoted their time and love to making sure EVERYTHING was perfect and no corners or dust was missed, and I mean NONE!!(especially her bed).
Family and close friends were the most important part of Loretta's life. She loved family gatherings ,Birthday parties and always gave gifts.
Loretta made a heavy impact on everyone she came across; she never judged and didn't let things bother her AT ALL! She will be truly missed by all that knew her heart, keen, smart, and Whitty personality, to know her was to love her. Her name and spirit will forever live on, that's for certain.
Those to cherish her memory include her children Brigette (Raydon) Reed-Weeams, Ernie (Dinely) Reed, her sisters Annie Jewel Brewer (Will), Hattie Kee (Ben); four grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, aunt, cousins' other relatives and many friends.
Loretta is preceded in death by her, parents, Hattie Mae Slade-Wise, Osborn Wise, Husband Ernest Reed III and her sisters, Doris (Sweetie), and Elnore.
Even though Loretta is not here in physical form she will always remain in each ones hearts and memories, So don't be sad for her, rejoice in her new life and let her legacy live on. She's all good now!!!!
