Mom's obituary
After a long battle with cancer Lori Gillman passed away on December 28th 2017. She is survived by her two sons John and David, her mother Margaret and two older sisters Leslie and Susan. Of course, we can't forget about her animals, the two lovable cuddle buddies, Maddie and Beazer, and a perfect fur ball, King Tut.
Lori was a person whose heart stretched far beyond her physical touch, having a profound effect on so many lives. She was a terrific mother to her two boys, and all the animals that she was able to shelter. She cared deeply about all people, and gave second chances.
Lori grew up in the small town of Troy, Ohio where she developed deep friendships with many, and eventually met and married the boy's father John. She developed a deep passion for music and art during her life, which she was able to share with all of her friends and family.
Lori was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014 and fought bravely to defeat the disease. The cancer had later metastasized and spread to her brain. She feared the outcome of this diagnosis but always made treatment her first priority.
She will be deeply missed many, and will watch over and protect all of us. We love her for every lesson she taught us and the moments we were able to share.
Lori requested to be cremated. There will have a celebration of life on Feb 3rd at her residence. Please wear bright colors; she was never a fan of black.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local non-kill animal shelter of the donor's choice or to the family.
