Lucile Wyckoff'S

The last thing Lucile clearly said to her son, was "I love you too, Honey." on August 12, 2002. This memory has been a comfort to me as I sat here almost daily as she slowly slipped more and more into her long and well deserved sleep. For she had done well by her kids, instilled a reverence for truth, honesty and the honesty to show our love for one another.

Lucile was born March 3, 1924 to Fred and Ruby Ebendorf. She celebrated her live 'til September 3, 2002.

An accomplished Teacher at the Glen School house. Where she taught a number of the kids who would in time become relatives. Just starting out she was a maid for a kindly family in Denver while she studied to be a teacher. Later she worked for Remington Arms during WWII as an inspector in what is now the Gates Rubber facility.

She married Roy Pershing Wycoff in 1948. They lived on a dairy farm in Greely until the birth of their first child, Irene in April of 1953. Her birth was followed four years later by a second chilld, Terrel Gene Wycoff in June of 1957. The family moved to a farm out by Last Chance, Colorado, where they raised corn, wheat and a few cows. On the farm out east Lucile always loved taking care of Annie Hunt, who was her Dad's adopted sister. Annie was always in a wheelchair and Lucile was always there for her in her last days. Later as Roy's health was failing and he was unable to do the strenuous work on the farm, the family moved briefly to Last Chance and then to Denver in 1963.

She went to work at Woolworth's, then J.C. Penney's. Her very favorite job ironically was babysitting. Lucile was always a natural at being a caring and very giving individual.

To give you an example of how much Lucile loved being around people, one day in the nursing home she was sitting in the hallway and to every person that would walk by her, she would say "I just have to shake your hand and how are you doing?. They would smile and shake her hand. The she started singing and I notied everyone around her would start humming and singing to from the patients to the nurses even though every one knew Lucile could never carry a tune.

Lucile was always fun and patient; her grandson, Kyle always loved the stories she told him.

She is survived by her daughter, Irene Aldridge, son, Terrel Wycoff, sister, Iola Ebendorf, brothers, Owen and Ova Ebendorf, grandsons, Mathew and Kyle Aldridge and son-in-law, Dennis Aldridge of Lakewood, CO.
