Lucy Lea Asmus, 89, of Denver, passed away February 14, 2018.
She was born October 10, 1928 in Osborne, Kansas, the daughter of Wayne and Mary (Henry) Toombs.
In her younger years, she was involved in 4-H in Kansas. She graduated high school in 1946 and promptly moved to Denver to attend Business School.
Lucy met Howard while they were roller skating. They were inseparable from that point. On June 17, 1951, she married Howard.
Lucy enjoyed square dancing and skiing with her husband Howard. They also enjoyed camping and hiking. Lucy also loved to take car trips. She will be remembered as the "Neighborhood Mom," taking everyone where they needed to go. She was also involved in Girl Scouts with her daughters.
Lucy is survived by three children, Rebecca Lynne Asmus, Stanley Howard Asmus and Julie Gail Asmus; one grandchild, Sarah Elizabeth Luther; many nieces, nephews and extended family and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Howard Alexander Asmus; father, Wayne Toombs and mother, Mary Ann Toombs.
