Lynn David Chester, a.k.a. Tickle Monster, was born June 3, 1950 as the 7th of eight children to Lawrence and Hazel Chester in Viborg, SD and went to be with Jesus on November, 25, 2019 after a long illness at his home in Aurora, CO.
Lynn leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Carol Ann Chester, his daughters, Kimberly Forster and Nicole MacLeay (and Mark), and grandchildren, Mary MacLeay and Abigail and Nathanael Forster. He also leaves behind his siblings, Bonnie Wirt, Darlene Ommen, Larry (and Joni), Dale (and Erika), Dennis (and Kay), and Debbie Petzrick (and Kip), his mother-in-law, Mary Halvorson, sister- and brother-in-law, Sherri and Mark Rhule, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bob.
Lynn grew up farming with his dad in Parker, South Dakota and moved to the Denver area after graduating from High School in 1968 where he met his future bride while working for his brother, Dale, at Iola Cleaners in 1969. He and Carol were married on July 7, 1972.
After working for Brunswick and PepsiCo, he found his passion working in sales and inventory management of bus parts for Colorado West and McCandless.
He enjoyed vacations with his family exploring much of the country as well as planning many weekends away as a couple. He especially enjoyed his trips to the Boston area where they traveled frequently while Kim lived and went to school there.
It always pleased Lynn to make "his girls" happy. He had incredible patience, never complained, and was always willing to help others. He loved spending time with his grandkids, who learned the meaning of "antagonize" at a young age. He had a dry sense of humor and loved to laugh.
In 2015 Lynn began experiencing off balance symptoms that baffled the doctors with all medical testing coming back as normal. In 2016 it was determined that his spinal cord was being crushed and he endured a risky surgery on his neck. It wasn't until 2017 that he was diagnosed with the true cause of his deteriorating condition, Multiple System Atrophy, a rare and deadly disease. Lynn faced the trials of his condition with the same quiet determination that was evidenced in his entire life.
Lynn knew Jesus Christ as his Savior and is now safely home where there is no more pain or sorrow.
