Margaret Elaine Olpin Westover, 90, of Aurora, Colorado passed away Monday, November 18, 2019 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born July 14, 1929 in Pleasant Grove, Utah to Lewis Edwin Olpin and Margaret Joseph Olpin. Elaine married Jack Westover on September 13, 1951 in the Salt Lake City, Utah temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were blessed with four sons and one daughter.
Elaine was a little lady with a huge heart. She was a lover of people and rarely liked to sit still. Elaine was always busily serving someone, feeding her family and friends, or bustling about finding ways she could bless someone's life. She loved traveling the world with her husband Jack, spending time with her big family, playing games like Rummikub and Hand & Foot for fun, and making sure everyone had a treat. If she had to be alone (not her preference), she often spent time playing computer games like Solitaire and Free Cell, hoping to stave off Alzheimer's disease.
Elaine never stopped loving and serving others, and her Savior, Jesus Christ, topped that list. She loved Him and dedicated her life to Him. As Elaine got older, she got smaller, but the smaller she got, the larger her heart seemed to grow and the sweeter she became. She smiled through it all and was an example of service, kindness, and love to her family and friends to the end. She will be dearly missed.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Jack; four children: Michael Westover, Jacqueline (Paul) Allen, Eric Westover, Lewis (Kelly) Westover; thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law: Keith (Merlene) Westover and Larry Knight; and sister-in-law: Joyce Olpin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son: Steven Westover; daughter-in-law: Sally Westover; great-granddaughter: Paetyn Allen; her five siblings: LuJean (Elwood) Sundberg, Kathryn (Stanley) Weeks, Dee (Pauline) Olpin, Jewel Knight, and Jerry Olpin; and brother-in-law: Udell (LaRue) Westover.
