Maria Dolores Cobo
Age 43, of Englewood, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023. Maria was born on January 28, 1980 to Debbie and Harold Cobo. She worked many years in the hospitality industry where she took immense pride in making everyone feel welcome and in providing people with highly memorable and enjoyable experiences. Later, she carried that pride to the transportation industry where she learned new skills, moved up quickly to a supervisory role, and became an inspiration to all who watched her completely change careers with bravery and determination.
Maria was the coolest person you'd ever meet, but above all else, she was a wonderful mother who loved, cherished, and admired her daughter, Jovi immeasurably. Maria's bond with her daughter is one that can never be broken, not even in her absence. As we all come together to remember Maria, we will ensure that Jovi always remembers her Mommy, the love Maria had for her, and the unique bond they shared.
Maria's love for her daughter, music, and the state of Colorado were what drove her. They were the three things that brought her the purest joy and happiness. She also loved to cook, collect vinyl records and tour memorabilia, eat Slim Jims and sunflower seeds, listen to Twenty One Pilots, and was a lifelong follower of Mike Patton.
Maria made hundreds of friends across the country throughout her life, but even if you only knew her for a short time you likely could never forget her and her wonderful sense of humor. She also had a zeal for adventure, a laugh that was contagious and addicting, a generously loving heart, wisdom beyond her years, and inner strength that had been an inspiration to her family, her friends, and strangers alike.
Maria is survived by her daughter, Joviana of Englewood; her parents, Harold Cobo in Colombia and Debbie Speight in Michigan; several siblings, Harold E. Cobo (Papito), Madison Meola (Gigi), Jonathan Cobo, Nickolas Cobo, and Maximus Cobo, all in Florida; and two nephews, Harold Cobo and Alex Cobo in Nigeria. She is additionally survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins in various locations.
