Marianne Guthals

Marianne passed away October 24, 2009 at Triumph Hospital in Aurora, Colorado. She is survived by her husband Carl, three children, Scott & Laurie Guthals, Brian Guthals & Steve Dafoe, and Miriam & Greg Stephenson, and two grand children, Alexandra and Ryan Stephenson, and a sister Karen & Cecil Larson. She was preceded in death by her brother, Les Arneson. Marianne was born January 20, 1936, graduating from Garretson High School, and Augustana College, Sioux Falls, SD, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She was an accomplished artist, master knitter, and loved to cook especially Scandinavian meals. Marianne battled Arterial Pulmonary Hypertension for at least 5 years. In spite of her struggle she never lost her ability to love and inspire others. Although her body betrayed her, her spirit and Christian faith did sustain her, and she is now rejoicing with the Lord. Celebration of Life service, inurnment and reception will be held 10am, Friday, October 30th at Bethany Lutheran Church, 4500 E Hampden Ave, Cherry Hills Village CO 80113. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association 801 Roeder Rd.
