Mrs. Marie C. Bodison was born April 25, 1935 in Jacksonville, Florida to her parents, Mildred Johnson and Daniel Robinson. She was the first born and had two siblings Louise (Johnson) Lewis and Kenneth Robinson.
Marie received her early childhood education in Duval County Public Schools in Jacksonville, Florida. In 1954 she graduated from New Stanton Senior High School in Jacksonville, Florida. After her graduation she attended nursing school in New Jersey, New York.
She returned to Jacksonville after nursing school where she married Ralph Bodison Sr., to this union they had three children, Deborah, Ralph Jr., and Daniel. After marrying Ralph Sr., they moved to Denver, Colorado where Ralph Sr. enlisted in the military. Marie started her profession as a nurses aide at Colorado University Hospital. In 1979 she decided to work for Denver Public Schools as a Security Specialist at East High School. Marie loved her job as a Security Specialist, it enabled her to develop a closeness with staff and students. Needing to advance with more benefits she became a facility manager for Denver Public Schools where she retired in 1995.
After retiring Marie picked up another hobby, going thrift shopping, which I think she loved more than us (lol) she also loved going to yard sales. Marie collected designer hats and suits that she sported every Sunday.
She would collect so many hats and suits we would say, "Mom, Granny, where are you going to put all this stuff?" and she would just give us that look and keep going. Oh don't forget the matching shoes! And one of the greatest things she loved was to give to others, this made her the happiest.
Marie C. Bodison departed this life on June 12, 2019 in Denver, Colorado. She leaves to cherish her memory, three children, Deborah, Ralph Jr. (his wife, Regina), and Daniel.
