Marie M. Kazmier was born on May 13, 1927, and peacefully departed this world on October 15, 2024, at her residence at Mountain Vista Care Facility.
Marie was a dedicated nurse at Fitz Simmons Army Hospital during the tumultuous times of the Vietnam War, where she was committed to the healing and caring of the returning soldiers.
She retired from Martin Marietta where she enjoyed her job for many years as a file clerk.
Marie held a deep-seated love for the Lord, and her profound faith was reflected in her love for reading the Bible — a source of strength and inspiration.
Marie found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether it was playing the piano by ear, engaging in a friendly round of golf, or embarking on travels with loved ones. While a resident at the nursing home, Marie enjoyed being a greeter at the front door. In fact, she would call it “her job”.
She is survived by her daughter Bernice and her husband Rev. Larry Gee, her son Budd and wife Brenda J. Long, 2 daughters-in-law: Brenda C. Long, and Nancy Long, along with nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, fourteen great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great-grandchild.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Kazmier, parents, William M. and Laura Mae Adams, and her two sons, Robert E. Long and Herbert C. Long, as well as sixteen siblings.
