Your Hug Meant the World
Nobody else held me so tight
Or made me feel so right
No one's eyes shined so bright with love
As my mom, who is now high above.

Marie L Kerluke, a dedicated wife, mother of six children, and a friend to many passed away on December 16, 2022. She had suffered many strokes over the past few years and was diagnosed with dementia. It was a tremendously difficult disease for her to live with. While we are all sad, she's no longer with us, we are relieved to know she is finally at peace.
Marie was born on September 2, 1946, in Oregon Illinois to George and Neta Eckstein.
Marie was preceded in death by both of her parents and her grandson Abraham.
Marie is survived by her husband Henry Kerluke, six Children James Hansen Jr. (spouse Jennifer), Neta Hansen (spouse Karina), Michelle Hansen, Daniel Lott (Janelle), Heather Hansen-Kerluke (Donovan) and Eva Tyler (spouse Kenny). 9 Grandchildren: David, Tiffany, Jossy, James, Julie, Frankie, Kimberly, Paul, Maxine, Shevieve, Charlemae, Jack as well as 24 Great-Grandchildren.
After Marie retired from the Auto store her and Hank owned, she began teaching Preschool so she could be around kids forever. Marie will be remembered as a kind soul, always willing to cheer kids up with hugs and simply known in the Lakewood community as Grandma Marie. Marie was undoubtedly an important figure in so many lives.
