Marie "Margie" Manzanares, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025, at her home in Lakewood, Colorado. Born on July 20, 1934, in Model, Colorado, she was a beacon of compassion and joy in the lives of all who knew her. Her spirit was as vibrant as the colors she adorned herself with, reflecting her philosophy that “a woman should never leave her house without putting lipstick on.” Margie was undeniably a well-dressed woman, from the moment she awakened until she closed her eyes at night, a testament to her love for presentation and self-respect.
With a career as a nursing aide, Margie had a heart dedicated to caring for the sick and hurting. Her compassionate spirit extended far beyond her profession; it permeated her personal life as well. Her home was a sanctuary of hospitality, where she would bake, cook, and invite loved ones over to share meals and laughter. She was known for her joyful personality, often bringing light into the room with her humor and spunk, leaving an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to cross her path.
Margie's interests were as varied as the seasons. She found joy in dancing, going out to eat with her cherished children, and indulging in the nostalgia of old black and white movies. Always impeccably organized and clean, her home was a reflection of her meticulous nature, which mirrored the care she put into her relationships.
She is survived by her devoted daughters Linda (Doug), Loretta, Victoria (Sam), Margarita, and Susan, and her loving sons Joseph (Michelle), Mark (Pauline), and Paul Edward (Connie). Margie's legacy thrives in her 21 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward her spirit of love and laughter. She is also survived by her sister Cathy and brother Lee, who will cherish the memories of their time together.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents Cipriano and Susie, her beloved husband Joe, and six siblings, who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms as she transitioned into eternal peace.
A visitation will be held in her honor on April 8, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, West Metro, Denver. The viewing will follow on April 9, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Cajetan Catholic Church, culminating in a heartfelt Mass from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Margie will then be laid to rest with a graveside service at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 1:00 PM that same day. Everyone is then welcome to a reception hosted at Newcomer Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
As we remember Margie, let us celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and the genuine care she bestowed upon us all. Her legacy will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends, a testament to the impact of a life beautifully lived.
